Home-School Communications
If a parent wishes to meet a teacher or the Principal, a note should be sent to the teacher or Principal requesting an appointment. The school secretary may also be contacted by phone to organize a meeting.
There are formal parent/teacher meetings annually in February for each class.

Pupil Details
A pupil information form will be sent each September to all parents. Parents will be asked to supply contact names and telephone numbers for their child. Please notify the school of any change of address and telephone number as it essential that parents can be contacted in an emergency.
PPS numbers are required for each pupil.

Pupil Absences
Please encourage your child to attend school every day.
Under the terms of the Education (Welfare) Act if your child misses 20 days in the school year (for whatever reason: illness, holidays etc.), the Principal must inform the Education Welfare Board.
A written explanation must be provided if your child has been absent from school. School absence notes are provided in the homework journal.

The school has no authority to allow pupils to go on holidays during the school year. The Principal and staff disapprove strongly of children being taken out of school during term to go on holidays. Pupils fall behind in reading, math etc., are absent from tests and are unsettled when they return. If it is absolutely necessary to organize a holiday outside school holidays times, the least disruptive time is in the month of June.
If you need to have your child excused early from school you will be requested to sign a withdrawal form.

Educational trips
The pupils may go on outings throughout the school year. Parents will be asked to sign a consent form at the beginning of the school year.
